কোন বিদেশী নাগরিক বাংলাদেশী নাগরিককে বিবাহ করে বাংলাদেশের নাগরিকত্ব নিতে পারবেন বা নাগরিকত্ব না নিয়ে, ভিসা ছাড়াই বাংলাদেশে অবস্থান করতে পারবেন। প্রথম ধাপ: প্রয়োজনীয় কাগজপত্রসহ বাংলাদেশের ইমিগ্রেশন বিভাগে অথবা নিজ দেশে অবস্থিত বাংলাদেশী দূতাবাসে "নো ভিসা রিকোয়ার্ড" (সংক্ষেপে: এনভিআর) সুবিধার জন্যে আবেদন করতে হবে। আবেদন মঞ্জুর হলে তার পাসপোর্টে এনভিআর সিল দেয়া হবে। তখন সে তার পাসপোর্টের মেয়াদ পর্যন্ত সে যেকোন সময় বাংলাদেশে আসতে পারবে ও অবস্থান করতে পারবে। কখনো আর বাংলাদেশে আসতে ভিসা প্রসেসিং এর প্রয়োজন হবে না। দ্বিতীয় ধাপ: বিদেশী পুরুষের জন্যে পাঁচ বছর (নারীর ক্ষেত্রে দুই বছর) বাংলাদেশে বসবাস করতে হবে। অতঃপর এফিডেভিটের মাধ্যমে নিজ দেশের নাগরিকত্ব পরিত্যাগ করতে হবে। বাংলাদেশের স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের সুরক্ষা সেবা বিভাগে নাগরিকত্বের আবেদন করতে হবে।

A foreign citizen can get Bangladeshi citizenship by getting married with a Bangladeshi citizen. Also he/she can travel and stay in Bangladesh without obtaining citizenship or without a regular visa. First step: Apply for "No Visa Required (NVR) Seal" facility at the Bangladeshi Immigration Department or the Bangladeshi Embassy in your home country along with the necessary documents. After getting NVR facility you can travel to Bangladesh at anytime and stay here until your passport expires without regular Visa. Second step: A foreign male person must have to reside in Bangladesh for five years (two years for women). After that, you have to renounce your citizenship of another country through an affidavit.
